ETEC 512 Lesson Plan Critique

The purpose of this presentation is to consolidate the author's thinking about how the different theoretical perspectives presented in a master's level course, ETEC 512, are applied in educational settings. This presentation will first provide the context for an existing unit of study in an online educational setting. Then the unit of study will be critiqued though analyzing how the unit reflects the design of online learning spaces with applications from but not limited to behaviourist, cognitivist and constructivist, as well as the ways in which it doesn't. This analysis will then lead to the author suggesting changes to improve the unit of study, from a theoretical perspective.

Followed by the analysis and proposed changes, this presentation will model two redesigned lessons, other design changes which will reflect each of the theories described, and will end with a conclusion for future considerations in online learning.
