Textbook : Algebra I, Prentice Hall, by Bellman, Bragg, and Handlin Sr.

Grading: This course will follow the grade system in the handbook.

A 100-93      A- 92-90      B 89-83      B- 82-80      C 79-73      C- 72-70      D 69-63      D- 62-60      F 59-0

Grades will consist of two parts: 25% Homework, 25% Discussion Post, 50% Quizzes/Tests/Projects

Grades will be made up of: daily homework and assessments (quizzes and test). All tests will be in AP format: multiple choice (calculator and non-calculator), free response (calculator and non-calculator

Late Work- will be accepted for partial credit the next day ONLY. You must stay on top of the material. Remember to go to the website to get any assignments and/or notes.

Make up Quizzes and Tests – With excused absence, you may make up a quiz or test. If you are absent the day of a test or quiz you will be expected to make up the assessment immediately. If you miss a review day, you will still be expected to take the test or quiz: all review will be posted on website. In general, you will have the number of days you were absent to turn in any missed assignments or make up any assessments.

Grade Reports – will be given out numerous times throughout the semester, or keep a close eye on Progress Book for up to date grades.

Handbook Policies– All policies outlined in the handbook are enforced.

Suggestions for Success: -Be a responsible classroom contributor. Respect other student’s right to learn. Always do your homework. Bring a positive attitude and smile every day. Be an active participant by listening and sharing. Ask questions when you do not understand a concept.

-Study for quizzes and tests by: reviewing text material, reviewing notes and vocabulary, reworking any homework problems you originally misunderstood or made a mistake on, doing the practice test or study guide.
