Course Description
This H.I.P.P English Course allows participants to improve their use of the English Language through Instruction, Practice or Play. This portal is considered a Homeroom where individuals select how they want to learn. In some sections there might be an option as to how they can test as well. This is the online section of a Blended Learning program therefore students must complete the courses during the time allotted and attend selected on site sessions to complete the course.
What you need to learn and the skills you need to demonstrate is determined by state, district or institutions requirements. How you learn is up to you. This intervention style course is a way to respond to the different learning styles , backgrounds, interests and skills level
Grades
First you will take a practice test and respond to a few questions to determine the plan for your specific learning needs. This score does not affect your grade. Next , your plan will tell you what your goal should be to get a passing score. Then, you will set goals for yourself to help you meet or exceed the required goal. When you have attained the required goal in that section you will be allowed to move to the next goal until you have reached the 'pinnacle' and have completed the course. Participants must complete all sections at a minimum 90% to get a passing grade. Some sections require 100% to move to the next section. To complete this course successfully you must do the assessment at the end of each module. You may retake an assessment up to three times but there will be changes each time. Your highest score will be considered for the final grade.
