Indigenous Perspective to Colonialism, Post-Colonialism, and Anti-Colonial practices.

Course Description:  This course consists of 4 modules. Each module needs to be completed in order, and will take 1-2 hours to complete per module. This course is self paced and you will be engaging with other students so completing the modules in a timely manner is necessary.

Prerequisite: none

Course Credits: This course is FREE and course credits are not available or can not be transferred to an accredited institution. A certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the course with those earning scores above 70% of the Total Point Score.

Course Content:  This course will explore the indigenous perspective as it relates to colonial and post colonial practices by the European Empire and the United States Government to build awareness. Furthermore, the learner will create solutions to anti-colonial practices.

Student Learning Outcomes: At the end of this course 80% of the participants will be able to:

1. Build awareness of the Indigenous Perspective to colonialism practices.
2. Build awareness of the Indigenous Perspective to post-colonialism practices.
3. Create Solutions to the anti-colonialism practices

Methods of Instruction:

The course methods of instruction include but not limited to videos, youtube, prezi, animoto, pinterest, published readings, online collaborative tools, and lectures from leaders in their field.

Grading Criteria:

90% > = 400 Points 
80% > = 320 Points
70% > = 280 Points
60% > = 279 Points (need to retake course)

8 Assignments                    = 50 points each = TOTAL  400 points

Course Overview: 

A rubric will be given for each assignment where achievement of the highest possible score can be attained.

The overall participation will be based on a average of 50 points per assignment, going above and beyond the required postings, and/or collaboration efforts in a nurturing and professional manner is the best way to achieve the overall participation points.

Negative commenting to posts will be reflective in your overall participation grade as we move toward building understanding we must start with ourselves in order to provide solutions. This course will give you collaborative and articulation skills needed to express your voice on a sensitive issue.
