Course Information:
Welcome to Common Sense Economics for Life (Econ 100), Introduction to Economics Thinking. This is a one term curse for individuals who intend to take only one course in economics in their lifetimes while seeking a snapshot survey of both macroeconomic and microeconomic principles. In summary, It is an "Introductory survey of basic economic principles applied to public policy issues. It is not a substitute for microeconomics or macroeconomics, nor a prerequisite for any other course.." In other words, this course does not satisfy the prerequisite requirements for economics or business majors or minors. It targets the learning needs of non-econ and business majors and minors.
Each of the 15 "Modules" plus Supplement A will consist of the following items:
- Introduction - An overview of the Module
- Objectives - A list of what you should be able to do to demonstrate your learning
- Resources and Materials - Textbook chapters, lectures, articles, websites, etc.
- Activities and Assessments - Discussion forums, practice problems, homework questions, tests, and other assignments that enable you to demonstrate your learning
