Pacing Guide:

This is a semester course divided into Modules which contain lessons, assignments, quizzes, etc. To stay on pace you must complete at least one assignment per week. However, it is highly recommended that you stay on pace with your course calendar. This calendar shows you live assignment due dates.

 

Important Course Dates:

  • March 3 - 6, 2014 - NHSPE for Sophomores and Non-Proficient Juniors and Seniors.
  • March 21, 2014 - End of Quarter 3.
  • April 28, 2014 - Non-Proficient Seniors, only.
  • May 29 - 30, 2014 - Final Exams for Seniors in periods 5 and 6.
  • June 2, 3, and 4, 2014 - Final Exams for all non-Seniors.
  • June 4, 2014 - End of Quarter 4 and Semester 2.

 Grading Policy:

The grade for each quarter will be computed in the following manner:

  • Formative items (used to assess progress in learning – practice materials used inside the module):
    • 5% - Quizzes and other formative progress evaluations.
    • 15% - Mini-labs and classroom assignments.
  • Summative assessments (Items indicate mastery of the material and are done at the end of a module):
    • 60% - Tests and other Summative Assessments.
    • 20% - Lab reports, projects, and research papers.

        Semester grades will be calculated using this formula:

  • First Quarter         40%                       
  • Second Quarter     40%                       
  • Semester Exam    20%

 

Tutoring Options:

If you find that you need help, and would like tutoring, you can make come by the classroom (323) Tuesday through Friday from 13:25 - 14:00.  I am not available on Mondays, due to school-wide staff meetings.  Check the classroom for days when I will not be available due to parent conferences or other meetings.
