redbird.pngThe survey is open for 1 week and you will earn 30 points for completing it on time. After the deadline, the survey will close. I'll review the results and put together the final rubric guidelines that we will begin using next week in our class discussion forums.

In this course, there are weekly graded discussion forums where you answer a question or two from the readings and resources and respond to two of your classmates in the forum. Writing about what your read in a book or and article is a proven way to learn more deeply about an idea or concept and helps you develop better communications skills that you can use in other courses or in the workplace. Bloggers use this tactic to establish themselves as an authority in a particular subject and over time, develop a targeted readership for their blogs, ebooks and other information products they may produce for sale on their sites.

Because the discussions are graded, I typically use a rubric - a set of standards for content, format and other criteria that determine the requirements for the discussion post. This quarter you have a chance to set some of the standards for the discussion forums as a group. In the online marketing world, surveys like this can be used as a form of crowdsourcing or polling a target audience to test a product or service idea for a business.

You can complete this survey and submit your preferences and ideas for the class discussion forum standards you think are appropriate for a college level course. I appreciate your constructive suggestions for making the class discussions a good thing for this course and not a chore for anyone to complete.
