Course Syllabus

Lectures and recitation sections explore the mechanisms involved in the principles of macromolecular structure and function, the organization and regulation of pathways for intermediary metabolism, and the transfer of information from genes to proteins. It is expected that students have taken CHEM 0350 or are taking it concurrently.

Grades will be based on:

3 mid-term examinations (100 points each)

1 comprehensive final examination (200 points)

23 in-class clicker questions (3 points/ class) (60 points maximum)
Extra Credit Discussion Group Participation (5 points for the first exam period, 5 points for Exam period 2-Final) (10 points maximum)

 

Final grades will be determined by the percentage of total (560) points earned, as follows:

A = 90-100%

B = 74-89%

C = 50-73%

NC = below 50%
