COURSE DESCRIPTION

Design elements of electronic animation with interactive text graphics, photography, sound, film, and video construction. 

COURSE COMPETENCIES

  1. Develop Character construction through the use of graphics, modeling and sculpting, and basic electronic rendering. 
  2. Direct an animation, including staging of the characters, coordinating views and angles, and lighting. 
  3. Use electronic video input to digitize two and three dimensional characters for foreground or background effects.
  4. Use electronic video input to overview, edit, and add sound to animation as appropriate.
  5. Work with interacting modes from story boards through scripting. 
  6. Employ production options, such as output to CD ROM, slide, and video.

  • A = 100 – 90 % 
  • B = 89.9 – 80 %
  • C = 79.9 – 70 %
  • D = 69.9 – 60 %
  • F = 59.9 and below

 CLASS PROCEDURES

  • Homework and projects are due on the nights indicated on the course outline.  It will be collected on examination nights.
  • Attendance is required.  Ten percent of your grade is based on attendance and points may be deducted from your grade if more than one class is missed. The instructor should be notified in advance if you will not be attending a class (via text or email). The instructor reserves the right to drop any student who misses three consecutive classes.
  • Withdrawals are subject to current college policy and are the responsibility of the student. The instructor may withdraw any student who has missed more than 2 classes.
  • Classes may be recorded with the permission of the instructor.
  • Students are subject to and must comply with college policies found in the current College Catalog and Student Handbook.
  • Late work will be accepted at the instructor's discretion. 
  • Cell phones must be turned off during the class period (this includes texting). Please respect your fellow students and instructor by leaving the room if you need to make an emergency phone call.

Statement Concerning Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as presenting the work of another as one’s own. More than four consecutive words from a source other than the writer constitute plagiarism when the source is not clearly identified in appropriate document format.

“Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the use of paraphrase or direct quotation, of the published or unpublished work of another person with out full and clear acknowledgement. Is also includes the unacknowledged use of materials prepared by another person or agency engaged in the selling of term papers or other academic materials.”
