NTLB Probability & Statistics
Ms. Stonewall 2011 – ’12
About Probability & Statistics:
Basically, you'll be learning about various types of quantitative data, and how to collect, calculate, display, analyze and interpret it. That's the short definition of the class!
General Course Information:
- This class is 100% online. It's important that you check your messages often, and read the instructor's comments about your work. If you need help, please send a message to Ms. Stonewall.
- Every time you work, login to both Canvas and OLI; you’ll need both of them open (see account information below).
- This is a new class, so not all assignments will be shown right away. For a full credit (1.0 credit), you will complete approximately 40 assignments, 8 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final exam, and a survey that included data collection, analysis and write-up, and a presentation to a small group of students and staff.
- Read and follow the assignment directions carefully; some are quite complicated, especially later in the course
- Pay attention to how many points each assignment is worth. Assignments that are worth more points should be done in much greater detail, with accuracy.
- If you aren't satisfied with your grade(s), you can re-submit assignments. The first re-submission can possibly earn full credit. After that, points are deducted for not following directions and feedback from the instructor.
- Generally, you should complete at least one assignment per week. To get full 1.0 credit for the class this year, all work must be completed by June 7th, 2012. During Spring 2012, if we agree that you might not finish everything before the deadline, we can make a contract for what you must finish in order to receive partial credit.
- This is a new class, on a new system, so there will be boo-boo’s! Please e-mail Ms. Stonewall if you have any problems, if any links don’t work, or if you think any assignments are unclear.
