Course Description: 

Career Decision Making Tools is a course is designed to help anyone build self-awareness and knowledge of careers. The course is offered by the Holland Codes Resource Center.

Core Course Objectives:

You will be able to -

  • Gain awareness of RIASEC or Holland Codes
  • Understand the relationship between Holland Codes and student's likes/ dislikes
  • Identify student’s primary Holland Code
  • Discover several ways to classify occupations

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the course, you will have an overview of the Holland Codes, careers, and college majors.

By the end of the course, you will be able to do the following activities -

Step 1:  Read the files in the Introduction module.

Step 2:  Read the Assignments and Discussions -

Step 3:  Complete the RIASEC Inventories -

Step 4:  Finish Career Match Making Using Interests activities.

Step 5: Use Research a Career Tool.

Step 6: Build list of potential careers

Step 7:  Perform Search for College Tool.

Step 8:  Make a list of potential college majors.

Step 9:  Complete other Career Planning activities.
