Course Syllabus

With their respective weights between parentheses, the three grade categories for this course are Participation (20%), Homework (40%), and Tests (40%). Each "assignment" is equally weighted within its grade category. There are three assignments associated with the Participation grade: Canvas enrollment and profile, Attendance, and Collaborative effort. The scores for the first of the these will be entered shortly after the due date. The scores for the latter two will be entered only at the end of the quarter and a more or less arbitrary due date has been entered. There will be between 4 and 6 assignments in the Homework category, all of which will use Google Docs via Collaborations on Canvas. The due date and availability parameters have only been set for Homework 1, so far. There are two items in the Tests category, a Midterm and a Final. These will both be online assignments of the take-home kind presented in Quizzes. They will be available for several days and will not be timed. The Total course score calculated by Canvas will be converted to a letter grade as follows:
