Course Description: |
This course prepares students to apply knowledge of micro-organisms, viruses, hepatitis, and HIV/AIDS as related to the surgical technologist’s role in patient care. Emphasis is placed on the causes and the prevention of human diseases. |

Students are expected to spend two hours in homework for each hour in lecture. All homework will be graded and will comprise the percentage of the final course grade identified in “Out of Class Student Homework.”

90% – 100% A 80% - 89% B 70% - 79% C 0% - 69% F
All Surgical Technology core courses must be passed with a “C” (70%) or higher. Percentages are determined by dividing the number of points earned by the total points possible. |
