This course meets Washington State and Marysville School District graduation requirements. This course meets the following Washington State Learning Goals:
- To know and apply the core concepts of one of more of the following subjects:
- Government, Economics, Civics, History and Geography.
- To think analytically, logically, and creatively while integrating experience and research to make informed inquiry and reasoned judgments about current and past world problems.
Learning Goals: For students to examine and interpret major ideas and the core values of our local communities, state, country, and international community, including their histories, laws and forms of government by 1) completing projects and assignments and 2) analyzing historical time, events and individuals who are influential in our cultures, country and state, and internationally.
Performance Objectives: (Purpose statements)
- To be aware of current events on local, national and international levels and to evaluate our role in them.
- To analyze information from geographic tools and draw conclusions on issues and events
- To gain awareness of ourselves and others through the study of different cultures, their ideals, their beliefs, functions and cultural roots.

Evaluation: To receive credit and to make satisfactory progress each term, students must meet 80% completion of all assigned work, with a grade of 75% or higher.
