Course Syllabus
Computer Technology
Each student will be assigned a computer upon entering the trade computer with internet connection. If a student violates the rules concerning games or pornography in class, he/she will be removed from the internet by either an instructor or class leader for a minimum of 3 days. At the end of the time he or she will have internet access restored provided the time spent during the week was productive.
Each student is responsible for logging in weekly to sign off on their E-TAR. This measures the progress through the program.
|The class will have crew/group leaders. These persons will be responsible for helping the instructor to ensure that these rules are being followed. Citations may be administrated by these leaders, these citations are to serve as warnings to members of the class and may result in a Case Note for the student. Multiple citations will result in a center write-up. Class leaders also have the authority to pull the internet connection to those abusing the privilege of having a computer.
There are 10 chapters in the hardware book that deal with the 901 A+ test and 11 chapters in the software book that cover the 902 test. After completion of each book, students will watch the corresponding videos to fill in gaps for the A+ material. After completing these videos you will be given a test to check for retention of the material. If you cannot score at least an 80% on the A+ practice test within 5 attempts you will not be permitted to sit for the A+ exam and will be completed without an A+ certification.
