NYS SACC Credential
The New York State School‐Age Care Credential Preparatory & Advisor course Dignity of Children, Inc. provides coaching and guides a candidate until completion of the credential. We provide one-to-one coaching, group work, resources and skill-building techniques online, as well as provide you with an advisor until you are ready for your New York State SACC Endorser Visit by Afterschool Works! New York, the official state affiliate of the National Afterschool Association. Applying for the New York State School-Age Care Credential is a big commitment. However, working towards the credential can be a rewarding experience. It offers individuals the opportunity to: • Evaluate their own work in relation to New York State School-Age Care Competency Standards; • Get feedback and support from people who have experience working with school-age children and knowledge about school-age services; • Improve their skills in ways that are satisfying for themselves and beneficial for children; • Earn a professional Credential that is recognized throughout New York State and beyond! The New York State School-Age Care Credential has been developed to promote quality services to children and families by providing specific standards, training, and evaluation of school-age staff members and providers. It is an opportunity for adults working with school-age children to gain professional recognition for demonstrating competence in their on-the-job skills. About DOC SACC Credential Prep Independent Study Course: Classes are held once a month, scheduled dates are TBD: from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Upon completion of registration, please call (646) 639-7711, to schedule orientation. Sonia Toledo will be your facilitators and a DOC team member will be assigned as an advisors for your observations and coaching. Advisor visits begin upon 50% completion of the requisite written documentation. Upon request, one-on-one coaching will be provided. All Participants are REQUIRED To attend the DOC Leadership and Management training IN CONJUNCTION WITH the DOC SACC Credential Prep Independent Study Course.
