Boccaccio's Decameron

Discover a masterpiece of Italian literature: Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron. The Decameron contains Boccaccio’s eye-witness account of the Black Death plague in 1348, plus 100 tales that range from the sublime to the bawdy. Boccaccio's style, inventive and vivid, very often humorous too, will captivate you. We will also explore the influence of the Decameron on future art and literature, such as Pier Paolo Pasolini's 1971 film, "The Decameron."
