Objective: Given a word processor, a presentation application, and the resources provided, define, explain, and identify common Education Technology tools and media and provide an example of how they may be used to widen learning opportunities without creating learning barriers, and to remove learning barriers without narrowing learning opportunities.

The aim for technology is to assist education, which has at least four (some would say more) parts: the educator, the learner, the instructional designer, and the administrator. Our focus being to remove learning barriers and to widen doorways to learning should be kept in mind while looking at each of these parts of education. Education Technology is a communication too among these "parts of education."

access to knowledge bases (help user find information needed)
alternate forms of knowledge representation (multiple representations of knowledge, e.g. video, audio, text, image, data)
