Importing the Course

Download the Canvas course zip file here: information-and-communications-technology-export.imscc
Create an Instructure account at canvas.instructure.com or log into your existing account.
Create a new course. Name it "Information & Communications Technology" with a short code "ICT1".
Click "Settings" in the left navigation bar.
Click "Import Content into this Course" from the list on the right.

Content Type: Canvas Course Export Package
Source: the file you downloaded in #1 above (extension is .imscc)
Content: All Content (recommended; you can always delete or unpublish content later)
Select specific content if you already know what you're not going to use.
Options: (leave unchecked, there are no existing due dates in the course)

Course Orientation

Modules & assignments roughly follow the standards, though they might be out of order.
Students will not have enough time to do everything in this course. Choose what will be required and what will be optional.
Students will require their own Canvas orientation, as well as a small refresh of how to use computers. This course will provide some, but the teacher may have to supplement.
Add due dates to all assignments.
Add students to different sections.
Re-write any instructions you need to in order to work in your class.
Unpublish or delete content you don't need or can't use.
Record yourself doing presentations if desired.
Reorganize units and assignments if desired.
