Instructions
During our Reaction Rates unit, we tried out a non-traditional classroom. For this unit, we'll keep some aspects of the non-traditional classroom and make some changes.
What’s the same as for the previous unit?
- Much of the work is self-paced and you are responsible for finishing by the deadline
- Mostly individual/small-group conversations with teacher instead of whole-class lecture
- Can choose whether to complete tasks by yourself or with a partner (although tasks must be submitted on an individual basis – one per person – unless indicated otherwise)
- For concept application assignments, have some choice about type of assignment and topic
What’s different from the previous unit?
- Instead of working wherever you want, you will work in our meeting place for the entire period (our meeting place may be M301, library, Haas computer lab, or elsewhere)
- Fewer self-paced days and more whole-class-activity days to provide more structure
- More feedback throughout the unit so that you can see if you’re learning what you need to be learning
- Communication will be through Canvas instead of Blackboard
The schedule for the week will be posted on Canvas by Monday morning. On self-paced days, you will work your way through the modules on Canvas. Pay close attention to due dates and announcements.
