This morning I heard a National Security News Story on NPR (National Public Radio). It was a news story that involved cybersecurity (big idea "the Internet"), cybersecurity warfare (Internet), data breaching (data and information), possible attempt to manipulate and influence election in USA (global impact) and other big ideas that we teach in computing.

I want us to listen to the audio file and/or read the audio transcript of the story:

First, think about the following questions before we listen or you read the story:

What is this story about?
How is this story related to Computer Science?
Why is this story important for you to hear in regards to Public Policy and Computer Science?
What Computer Science ideas were discussed in the story?
After hearing this story, can you identify some beneficial and harmful effects of the computing ideas that were discussed?
What is a Cyber Bomb and what do you think about Admiral Rodgers answers to that queston?

After we listen to the audio file together, talk to your elbow partner(s) about your thoughts about the story for about 3 minutes.

Use the above questions to guide your conversation. Then we will have a class discussion and have 3 or 4 students share out their group's discussion and thoughts about this story.
