For week 16, we will finish we will finish learning about events, or interactive programming with Module 6: Get Into the Story (events).

We will start exploring functions and mathematical expressions. We will learn to make our Alice World programs more realistic by using functions and math expressions in our programs.

Daily Learning Targets for Week 16

By the end of this week, you should have learned about the following.

Module 6: Get Into the Story (events). Key concepts you will learn are:

What events are, and how you can work with them to enable your audience to interact with your program - to create interactive animations, or games.
That there are a number of different kinds of events, enabling your users to interact with your programs in different ways.
Finding out how the code you write to respond to an event can, in some situations, be reused to handle many other events.

Module 7: Calculating Realism (mathematical expressions and functions).

Data in computers is stored and transmitted as a series of zeros and ones; these series of numbers and ones can be described and used with "Binary Numbers".
Describe/Explain how we can use these two symbols (zeros and ones) to represent data such as words and numbers.
That the Internet and the systems built on it have had a profound impact on society.
Explain/Describe the Internet, how it was built, and how does it function.
Explain/Describe how cyber-security is impacting the ever increasing number of Internet users.
